The EU could “respond swiftly and decisively” against what it calls “unwarranted” visa bans imposed by the US against five European individuals involved in fighting digital hatred and disinformation, a European Commission spokesperson stated.

EU Officials Condemn US Action as ‘Intimidation’

European leaders including Emmanuel Macron accused the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, following the visa restrictions targeted figures that were central to efforts to enact laws regulating US-based technology firms.
